THE NOVEMBER 2006 MULTI STATE EXPEDITION
November ‘06 Cross Country Expedition ARIZONA '06 , TEXAS '06 , FLORIDA '06 , ALABAMA '06 , WISCONSIN '06 , INDIANA '06 , NEW YORK '06 , MINNESOTA '06 Tom Biscardi brought the Searching for Bigfoot team out on the open road again in November of 2006. He began our multi-state expedition with a stop at the White River Apache Reservation. There we met with some of our good friends, Tribal Chairman Ronnie Lupe, Chief of Detectives A.K. Riley, and Dennis Wagner of the Arizona Republic Newspaper. As always, the Apache Nation showed us their warm and welcoming hospitality and treated us as honored guests on their lands. They invited us to join them on their local radio show, KNNB Apache Broadcasting Corporation, where we had the opportunity to talk openly with their listening public. We explained who we are and why their tribal leaders had asked us to come to their nation to answer their questions as to why there had been so many more recent sightings in their towns and villages. We explained how the recent fires in the high country surrounding the populated valleys had forced the creatures down into the more populated areas in search of food. To help alieve some of the apprehension of the local people, we opened the radio phone lines up for questions. We were overwhelmed with the response! Not only did the phones ring off the hook, but people in the hundreds came to the station to meet with us personally to share their concerns and stories. As people learned just how many of their neighbors had seen these creatures and found that out of all those encounters, not a single person had been attacked or threatened with anything more than a yell or a rock or two being thrown at them by these creatures, their fears began to subside. They became more comfortable with sharing their stories and began talking more with their neighbors about it. They felt much better knowing that the Searching for Bigfoot Team was willing to arrange to lend one of our best trackers to the Apache Police Department, for a minimum of three months. Our team member would be riding with the local police on all of the 911 calls that were coming in concerning encounters with these creatures. During the short time we had to spend with our friends, we were only able to go into the field for part of a day and several hours in the evening. During that day we met with some of the people we had talked to before on a previous visit. Their story was so compelling that we filmed the interviews from them and the officers that responded to their 911 call. Those interviews will be in our new movie, Bigfoot Lives! We also got out into the country to inspect some foot prints found by some local residents.
Once out in the country, we observed a small pond that is frequented by many wild animals including feral donkeys and cattle. There were many prints in the area, but none we could verify as those of a creature. We are looking forward to spending much more time with our friends on the Great Apache Nation in Arizona, while we continue Searching for Bigfoot! BACK TO TOP THE NOVEMBER 2006 MULTI STATE EXPEDITION
[TEXAS 06]?Create TEXAS, OUR SECOND STOPThe Searching for Bigfoot team, lead by Tom Biscardi, left the Apache Nation in Arizona around noon on the 6th of November, 2006. We headed towards Paris Texas and drove through to Childress Texas before stopping to sleep. We slept about 6 hours and hit the road again at early light to make Paris early afternoon. In Paris, we met with some of our old friends and contacts, Mike and Sandy Sells. There, Mike and Sandy introduced us to some other local researchers from the Texas Shadow Chasers, Perry Murray and David Holley.
After our introductions, we decided to take a short walk around at Lamar Point, a local “hot spot” in the Paris Texas area. On our arrival, we saw members of another Texas based organization that we recognized. When they saw us, they quickly packed up their vehicle and drove away without acknowledging our presence at all. We didn’t think anything of it, other than it seemed a little rude? However, once we took a walk out to the edge of the lake, we found out why they left so quickly! It seemed they were placing false foot prints in the area around the shoreline! You can see my note to the office for more details. A LETTER FROM JAVABOB ABOUT THE NOVEMBER 2006 EXPEDITION I was horrified to think that an organization that wants the world to think of them as legitimate researchers would stoop to actions that move to discredit all of the honest and hard working people who take this subject seriously! Although we were all shocked by what we found, we had a job to do and set about to do it. It appeared the drought that had plagued this area for the past two years was ending and recent rains had brought the water levels back up to near normal. Unfortunately, those same rains had also washed away any obvious signs of our “elusive friend”. The area is so beautiful as to take your breath away. However, this time, on our short visit, we found no new signs of our “friend”. Perhaps he is settling in for the upcoming change in the weather or just wasn’t out yet since the last rain.
Visiting with our friends and associates helped us to get over our disappointment and after updating everyone with our plans and recent findings, we prepared to get back on the road and head towards Florida. We wanted to see, first hand, the latest information about the “Skunk Ape” and learn about the latest pictures that have surfaced. BACK TO TOP THE NOVEMBER 2006 MULTI STATE EXPEDITION Florida November, 2006We loaded up the gear and left Texas about noon on Tuesday 11/07/06. We were headed towards the Everglades in Florida. On the way, we stopped in Faulk Arkansas to see an old friend of Tom Biscardi’s, the “legend” himself, Smokey Crabtree. I had never met Smokey and was looking forward to the meeting. When we arrived at our meeting spot, a local chicken eatery, Smokey was already there and enjoying a nice meal of fried chicken. He stepped outside to welcome us in then went right back to his meal. We did most of the talking as Smokey enjoyed his fried chicken! I was surprised to meet a smallish, quite, and unassuming man. Boy… did I quickly find just how wrong first impressions could be! Once Smokey finished his meal, he jumped to his feet and got right in the face of our intern cameraman. Smokey snapped in a fierce and threatening manner; “Who gave you permission to film me?!” Our poor young novice cameraman was in shock! He stammered a few; “uh... uh... uh’s…” and began apologizing profusely! As was more in tune with Smokey’s fiery reputation, he quickly took control of the situation. After a lot of apologizing and careful back peddling, our cameraman Froy San Pedro, agreed to give the tape in his camera to Smokey and to never assume it would be OK to film anyone without prior consent again! I am very confident that this was a lesson Froy would never forget! As for Smokey, once his point was made, he settled into reminiscing old times with Tom Biscardi. He shared some stories in his “larger than life” way and totally captivated me and some of the rest of the younger members of our team. I was fortunate enough to get a full set of Smokey’s book trilogy autographed, along with a copy of his CD of some stories from his youth. I felt fortunate to have had the opportunity to meet and talk with this early pioneer of the ongoing “Bigfoot” saga! Unfortunately, we were on a schedule and could only spend a short time with Smokey before getting back on the road. At least I was able to create a memory that I can keep for many years… Thank you my new friend and may God continue to bless you!
Well, back into the truck we climbed and back on the road again. We drove throughout that afternoon and finally took a short break in Madison Mississippi, near Jackson. There we stopped at a local restaurant and made a few quick phone calls. We contacted more old friends, a local well known researcher, M.K. Davis and his friend who was visiting from Montana, Don Monroe. The two men agreed to take a few minutes out of their busy schedules and come on down to say hello and share some coffee with us. This was a welcome break from our tedious drive and we took full advantage of it. We sat and visited for at least an hour before getting back on the road and heading for the Everglades. We arrived in Everglade City, Florida about 8 pm on Thursday the 9th. It was a warm and humid 80 degrees and we were all very tired from our long drive. We called Captain Judy Caseley, a local wildlife photographer and wildlife guide. We agreed to meet her in the morning and discuss her newly released photograph of what many believe to be the famous Florida Skunk Ape! Skunk Ape is another name for our elusive friend, “Bigfoot”. We checked into a local motel and got our first good sleep in four days. In the morning, we met our hostess, Judy Caseley for breakfast. Judy, as it turned out is a lovely young woman who had moved to Florida many years earlier to enjoy her passion of photographing wild life. She earned the major portion of her living by teaching school. She is a dynamic person and was soon an active member of her community. She is very involved with setting up educational programs for the local children, promoting the local artist community, and protecting the natural habitat of the area. She even owns and operates her own boat, giving guided photographic wild life tours in the Everglades. Judy shared her story with us. It seems that about five years ago, during a visit from her sister, Judy brought her out into the Everglades to see a favorite place that she would go to see natural wildlife in the area. Earlier in the season, Judy had seen a cougar in this area and was hoping to bring her sister into an area where she might be able to share that experience. Instead, they were both treated to an even rarer experience. They both saw what the locals refer to as the “Skunk Ape”! Judy’s sister was horrified, but Judy, a professional photographer was able to maintain her composure long enough to shoot a short series of photos that have now brought her into the middle of controversy she never expected to experience. Judy knew her pictures might bring a little controversy into her life as soon as she developed them and was able to see just how dramatic and clear they were. She made the decision not to publish them, but put them away into her private collection and went on with her life. About five years later, the local community was putting on an art show at local museum. They asked Judy to display some of her work. While looking through her vast collection, they stumbled over one of her older photos of the creature. The locals immediately recognized it as their own “Skunk Ape” and after much coaxing, convinced Judy to show the picture. Judy was hesitant at first, because she didn’t want to draw more attention to her find, thinking it might make people think the locals are crazy down here. Judy went ahead and put one of her series of pictures on display at the local museum. A local paper came by and saw the photo. Soon this dramatic picture was all over the web! Not something that Judy either expected or wanted, but there it was! Soon Judy was being judged by all the so called “Bigfoot Researchers” who spend their time critiquing anything that goes across the web or papers, but don’t bother to investigate themselves. She was being called a fraud and her picture was being manipulated and actually changed by these same so called “Bigfoot Researchers”!?? Tom Biscardi and his team of investigators saw the same pictures in the papers and on the web, but unlike everyone else; we held our judgments until we could physically meet with Judy and actually come to the area and see for ourselves! What we found was a very credible person with honorable intent, sharing an actual photo with the world. No signs of trickery, false intentions, or alternative motives!
Florida is a beautiful place and we got to see a lot of it on this trip. We focused on the area near the site of the original picture.
The area was truly like a jungle with thick mangrove swamps, isolated densely treed areas, and lots of floating mats of vegetation. Walking out there is like walking on a sponge. Like the name says… there is an abundance of wild life. There are bears, cougars, snakes, and even large Alligators to be found everywhere.
As you can see by our pictures, this is the real deal. It was hot and humid, even this late in the year. There were many crawling and winged insects to bother us along with other wild and dangerous reptiles and animals to contend with. Not a place that a man would want to dress up in a hot and heavy suite and hike several miles into the inaccessible swamps and jungle just in case a photographer might happen by to take a picture! Once we were there, we could see how absurd that whole concept would be. We set about to find the exact spot where Judy had taken her photos. It took several hours to match up the photos with the background, even though Judy was able to take us within a couple of hundred yards of the spot from her memory. It had been almost five years and a couple of hurricanes later. Much had changed, but we did manage to find the area.
We have shared some of the 'unreleased' photos with some of our colleagues who specialize in photographic evidence. All of these specialists have told us that the original photos are unaltered. However, they did point out differences from the photo appearing on the web and the original that Judy had taken? This suggests that who ever posted these on the web may have made some alterations. Keep in mind that Judy did not publish these pictures. The photos were picked up by “bloggers” from a local newspaper article and circulated from there. We are investigating this anomaly further and will report on our findings if and when we get some verifiable data to share with you. After identifying the area, we were contacted by the local NBC news affiliate. They wanted to know if we would mind if they came back out with us that evening to watch how we conducted our investigation. Of course, we were happy to have them along. We drove back out into the area about 10:30 that evening and set up our equipment. We set up our trip cameras, our bionic listening devices, the infer-red photo equipment, the heat sensing monitors, and the thermal imaging equipment. We scanned the area for any signs of activity and listened for any unusual sounds. After a while, we began sending out pre-recorded sounds of call from the creature and attempted some “tree knocking”. “Tree knocking” is form of communications that we believe these creatures use to keep in contact with each other over larger distances. We did not get any auditable replies, but we did pick up something large on the heat monitors and eventually on the thermal imager. We could not positively identify what the object or animal was, but it clearly got the attention of the NBC photographer! Jamie, their reporter, was impressed enough, that she hid herself behind our equipment trailer and waited for the entire crew to return before she began any interviews! It was my opinion that she was pretty frightened by our findings. We were not able to find anything that we could positively say was a creature out there this night, but we know there was something out there that was large and was warm blooded! While we were in Florida, we had the opportunity to talk too many of the locals about their “Skunk Ape” and we heard of many credible stories and encounters. We even heard from the local Sherriff Deputies about reports of sightings and encounters that they had heard about on several occasions. This entire experience was extremely informative and will keep us busy for many weeks following up on the information we gathered. To sum it up, we found Judy Caseley to be an extremely credible person who simply took a series of pictures and shared them with the public. The pictures she took were not altered by her in any way, and she is just as amazed by their content as are the rest of us. We thank her for her honesty and for being willing to share her find with us. As more people like Judy stand up to the truth, we will move ever closer to solving this mystery! Until that day, this team will keep on “Searching for Bigfoot”! BACK TO TOP THE NOVEMBER 2006 MULTI STATE EXPEDITION AlabamaTom Biscardi had heard about an interesting 911 call that came into a dispatch office in Alabama. He decided to take a short detour on our eleven thousand mile jaunt across this great country of ours, to investigate that call and all the other stories we had learned about. Of course, the Searching for Bigfoot Team was chomping at the bit to learn more about this mysterious call, so off we all went! We headed North West from Florida in the general direction of Wisconsin. Alabama would be in that general direction anyway! The story we had heard about, came second hand from a person who owned a BP Gas Station along a back highway on the Alabama / Georgia boarders along the Chattahoochee River. We drove to the BP Station where we met Karen, the owner and manager. Karen told us about a customer she had one morning that made a 911 call from her business. The unidentified caller, told about some large hairy animal that had attacked their dog while they were camping at a remote camp site on the river. They did not give too much detail, but made it clear that they did not want to spend another minute in the area and would not be back until day light! After the 911 emergency call, the couple left. They said they left all their belongings at the camp site and would not be back to pick them up until morning! They never said what happened to the dog or what it was exactly that they saw. Only that is was unlike anything they had ever seen before! Karen did go out to the camp site they described and found that they had in fact left all their belongings! They simply got into their car and left the area! It appears that they did come back in the day light to pick up their stuff, but other than that, they have not been heard from since! The following is a link to an actual copy of the original 911 call;
The team carefully inspected the area for any signs of our elusive friend, but due to a recent rain coming through, we were not able to find anything. There is plenty of food, water, and cover in the area, but we found no signs to suggest he was here. I am afraid we may have missed our opportunity to investigate what may have been a prime sighting, but that is what it is all about… Sometimes we find what we are looking for but sometimes we don’t. We just have to keep on looking and not pass up any opportunities while we are Searching for Bigfoot! BACK TO TOP THE NOVEMBER 2006 MULTI STATE EXPEDITION
Greencastle, IndianaOne or our most memorable visits was with two young high school students in Greencastle Indiana. These young men and their parents brought us a glimmer of hope in this overly homogenized world. In a world that has glorified normality and conformity, we found a group of people who still want to instill in their children a sense of wonder and discovery. A group that thinks it is still important to teach the next generation that it is important to use their own minds, their own senses, and their own imagination to discover what may be in the world around them. We met with two young men, Tyler and Austin, whose parents and local school support the idea that the academic world can expand its knowledge when the next generation is taught to sidestep the obstacles set before them in the form of paradigms. That education is a tool best utilized by people who know how to think on their own. Tyler and Austin are interested in researching the existence of “Bigfoot”. Many people simply put aside the notion that a creature such as this could possibly exist and would not want their children “wasting” their time researching this subject. Fortunately, there are still parents who believe allowing their children to exercise their imagination, curiosity, and free thinking ability is an important part of parenting. These wise parents have made a decision to support their children’s sense of wonder and need to learn, rather than stifle those same traits. I have to wonder what our world would look like today, if some of the parents of generations past had not allowed their children to go against the ideas of conformity of thought that were prevalent in their day? What would we have if Christopher Columbus’ parents said “don’t waste your time thinking about a round world…” or the Wright brother’s parents and teachers told them, “…don’t waste your time trying to fly, people are only going to laugh at you…” or Albert Einstein’s teachers convinced him that there couldn’t possibly be any connection between time and space….” I know that not every person with the talent to think for themselves will be the next great scientist, inventor, discoverer, or humanitarian, but I also know we will short change our entire civilization if we don’t allow our generations to come, the ability to think on their own. My personal experience has demonstrated to me that there is clearly enough empirical evidence to show that there needs to be a serious effort made to investigate the possibility of a totally unknown species of primate existing in this country. I believe that if such a study is done and supported by today’s academic society we would most probably be able to solve this puzzle once and for all. That is why I continue searching for Bigfoot when ever possible. Perhaps a young person like Tyler or Austin will be able to prove beyond a shadow of doubt that I am either right, or wrong. But either way, it gives me a great sense of pride and comfort to know that this great country will still be able to produce a generation of people with the skills to continue to learn and move our knowledge of the world around us forward. I salute the teachers and parents of these fine young men for a job well done! The Searching for Bigfoot team went to Indiana to meet these two fine young men and some of their parents. We wanted to encourage them to keep searching for evidence, to follow their own path, and to understand that not every broken twig in the forest, not every unusual smell or sound, and not every print they find is going to be proof of this creature. But, with perseverance and an open mind, the possibility of discovery is very real and still available to them and all of us who don’t believe that all to be known is already known! If you would like to know more about what these fine young people are doing, or help them in there quest, you can contact them at; their email is sasquatch_bigfoot_research@yahoo.com and their website is http://www.myspace.com/sasquatchbigfoot

BACK TO TOP THE NOVEMBER 2006 MULTI STATE EXPEDITION
New York, 2006We are nearing the end of our 2006, multi state, 11,000 mile expedition. One of the places we have been looking forward to visiting is Upstate New York. Earlier this year, we had an amazing encounter in Clarence New York, and we know that there is definitely some activity in this state. Steve Kulls, the Squatch Detective, had asked Tom Biscardi and his Searching for Bigfoot team to come by if we made it back to this part of the country. Well, here we are. We met Steve and his partner Bill Brann at a local restaurant and made plans to head on out to a spot that Steve had been monitoring for the past six years. Steve told us he had seen many signs of activity in the area over those six years, but was never able to document it fully. He invited us out with him to see what we could find. The area was just as Steve described it, a very wild and heavily wooded wilderness. There is over six million acres of unspoiled wooded wilderness up here, near the Canadian boarder. We came out after sun set, knowing that the focus of our expedition is a nocturnal creature, and headed into the woods. We split into three groups. Bill Brann stayed up by the vehicles to maintain the base camp. Steve went out with TJ and Lee, our trackers, and Tom Biscardi and I (JavaBob ) made up the third team. It wasn’t long before Tom and I began smelling a strong and foul odor. A smell similar too, but not the same as the smell of a skunk. It seemed to be moving all around us and not emanating from just one area. As we traveled further into the woods, we came upon some marshy area near a small stream. Because of the mud and marsh, we were forced to head uphill slightly. There next to a tree, Tom noticed the first of several foot prints. We did our best to photograph the prints in the dark and mark the area where they were found so that we could get back to them later. In the mean time TJ, Lee, and Steve were moving off ahead of us and to our left. They had crossed the stream area near were we found the prints. They were now about 200 yards farther into the darkened woods when TJ and Lee found a set of prints. Steve was ecstatic about this. He had been searching this area for over 6 years and had never found anything that he could capture as physical evidence of what he always knew was in the area. Of course, the Searching for Bigfoot team was just as happy and told Steve to go ahead and cast this print to keep as his own. After all, this was a team effort and we would not have found it without Steve’s invitation. It just goes to show what can be done when some of the separate “Bigfoot Organizations” choose to work together and not get caught up in the petty disputes that can be so common among them. I was able to document much of this expedition on film, using infra-red technology and I can let you see it now. Just click on the red box with the X in the middle to watch a seven minute film of this expedition: I hope you enjoyed this, and our thanks to Bill Brann and Steve Kulls for inviting us out to this amazing area. I am sure we will be back to investigate it along side of these dedicated men and their team. Until then, we will continue searching for Bigfoot! BACK TO TOP THE NOVEMBER 2006 MULTI STATE EXPEDITION Minnesota, 2006We made a special point to come to Minnesota, not just to follow up on our last visit, but to hear more inputs from the local people. We honestly feel that Minnesota is a virtually untapped resource. It has a rich history of sightings and encounters and has been underestimated as to just what a “hot spot” it really is. Once again we heard many stories about sightings and encounters. Unfortunately, all of which were already “cold” when we arrived and could not be verified easily. We believe that Minnesota is a stop over point on the migratory route of these creatures. It appeared that we had arrived, just a little bit too late in the migration to be able to find any significant physical evidence in the area. We did document the many stories we heard and will make plans to return when the migration back north begins. Well, here we are. We have traveled across this great land from coast to coast investigating stories and encounters from everywhere we found them. We have reported what we found to you, as honestly and openly as we could. Sometimes, we found some exciting physical evidence, and sometimes we could only share the stories we heard. But, each time, we shared everything with you, as we saw, heard, felt, or smelled it! This is the reality of searching for Bigfoot. We are both happy and sad to be at our last stop on this expedition. Happy because we will get to see some of our good friends in Minnesota and share some of their stories, but sad because we know this expedition is coming to a close. This team, led by Tom Biscardi, is always excited about seeing new things and moving closer to the day that we will be able to bring you uncontestable proof of the existence of the creature commonly know as “Bigfoot”. We enjoy being out on the road meeting new people and learning more and more about the creature. This job is so much tougher than most of you could imagine. We spend countless hours cramped up in truck, sharing space with all of our heavy equipment. We drive in shifts so we can get to our locations as soon as possible. Each member of the team drives for four hours, rests until their turn at driving comes up again then drives another four hours. We repeat this for up to 24 hours, depending on the size of the team, and then we pull over to sleep in a motel. That way, we can stay alert on our long and tedious drives. It is also very tough for so many people to be cramped into such a small area as the cab of the truck. As you can imagine, we can get a little testy! We only get to eat when we stop for fuel and/or bathroom breaks. However, Tom sees to it that when we do stop to eat, we all get good meals. While driving, we are conducting business and making contacts all over the country via our cell phones. We even do guest appearances on radio shows from the cab of the truck. Even Bigfoot Live “www.bigfootliveradioshow.com” our own live broadcast has to be done from the cab of the truck while we are on the road. Our time is very concentrated and we can get very uncomfortable while driving. However, we do it gladly. With out the discomfort, we would never get the part of discovery. We all are driven by our sense of amazement about this creature. We have all had some type of experience that makes us know that the creature exists and are driven to prove it to the world. None of us are satisfied to simply report on stories we hear coming across the web or in the News Papers. We all need to see for ourselves and make up our own minds. That is the only way to ferret out the truth and make in roads towards solving this last of the great mysteries of modern man. We are always amazed how difficult it is to get the attention of the academic world when it comes to a controversial subject such as “Bigfoot”. We think we know how Columbus must have felt trying to convince the “experts” that the world was not flat! Each time we find a new piece of the puzzle, or artifact, or picture, it makes all of the hard work and discomfort worth while. This is what keeps us searching for Bigfoot. When we were in New York, (less than a day ago), we dropped off some of our team members who live close to that area. One member was our cameraman intern, Froy San Pedro. Froy left me a note summarizing his first experience riding with this team. I would like to share the note with you, because I believe it gives a good insight as to what we are about. Froy wrote; “On this trip, I learned a lot of things from these amazing people. The story that I started out to get was about a man out to find a monster. Instead, I got to lean about a man and his “family”. I learned a lifetime of lessons in two weeks on the road seeing America. I learned not to be afraid of taking risks. I learned you get good things when you are around good people. I learned that you have to do what you love to do, because if you don’t, you’re not living a full life. I learned that you learn more from listening instead of talking but speak up and out about what’s important to you. I learned you have to stand on your own two feet and move because life moves really fast. I learned that business is about the money and not about the bull shit. I learned that honorable people are hard to come by, so when you meet an honorable person, stay honorable. And most importantly, when in doubt, let your work do your talking. Thank you, Froy (Bam Bam) San Pedro” This ends our 18 day, 11,120 mile expedition across this great nation. We endured this so we could bring you more of the truth about the creature “Bigfoot”. We are heading back to the offices to review and categorize our findings. We hope you enjoyed being able to share in our search and we are looking forward to our next trip. Until then, we at Searching for Bigfoot Inc., thank you for your interest and support. That is the reason why we keep searching for Bigfoot! BACK TO TOP THE NOVEMBER 2006 MULTI STATE EXPEDITION
