After our exciting visit to Oklahoma, we decided to make a small detour and visit some people who had contacted Tom Biscardi about tracks they have been finding in Paris Texas. Once there, we met Horace Penn and Mike Sells. Mike and Horace are some regular hard working family men from Paris Texas. They spend their time working, playing music, and searching the nearby woods and lakes for signs of our “good friend” Bigfoot! Between them, they have amassed a collection of hand and footprints numbering into the fifties or more.

We were very impressed with the huge collection they had put together. We were mostly impressed by the fact that no two prints were the same and they all showed unique properties that made it obvious that none of them were copies of any of the others. Horace also gave us a sample CD of some of the “country based blues music” he and his friends had recorded. Horace promotes several groups through “Camp Shagbark”, a local phenomena. After following these men into the woods in their surrounding areas, areas such as Camp Maxey, a large lake in the bottoms nearby, we felt this may be a very productive area and will deserve additional investigation. Unfortunately, our time schedule and budget would not allow us to remain any longer. We needed to get back on the road and keep heading west. We will keep in touch with these men and attempt to get back to do a thorough investigation of their home areas.
